Erna Kay Wieland Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Erna Kay Wieland (West Des Moines, Iowa), who passed away on June 19, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest "Ernie" Pichon and Harriett "Kay" Pichon; and her sisters, Connie Kennedy and Margie Butler. She is survived by: her husband Lawrence Wieland Sr.; her children, Connie Heinkel (Bill), Larry II Wieland (Kathy), Jeff Wieland (Helene), Gail Bormann (Tim), Shawna Kinnison and Summer Clark (Ryan); her grandchildren, Billy (Nicole), Andy, Jason (Crystal), Leah (Ryan), Lindsey (Mike), Caleb (Shambala), Adelle, Frank (Janie), Emily (Tim), Angela (Tyler), Everett (Nikki), Eleanor, Mariah, Brianna (Nick), Peirce (Candice), Ashley and Haley; her great grandchildren, Brysen, Jacksen, Landen, Aubrey, Lincoln, Isaiah, Justice, Charlotte, Cruz, Jackson, Ava, London, Ivy, Vada, Atticus, Kimberlie, Rebekah, Henry, George, Elouise, Maverick and Cash; and her brother Ernest "Bob" Pichon (Cheryl).
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Northwest Community Center (5110 Franklin Ave, Des Moines, IA 50310). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the McLaren's Resthaven Chapel (801 19th St, West Des Moines, IA 50265).
Memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Community Center or The American Red Cross Association.
