She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Rodriguez and Pilar Rodriguez (Medina); her siblings, Dolores Rodriguez, Basilio Buster Rodriguez and Ben Navarro Rodriguez; her husband Ralph A. Plasencia; her son Raphael Plasencia II; and her granddaughter Amalia Plasencia-Maldonado.
She is survived by: her children, Paula Plasencia, Brian Plasencia and Lisa Plasencia (Earl) of California; and her grandchildren, Javier Maldonado, Mariah Maldonado, Danielle Plasencia and Michael Plasencia. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McLaren's Chapel (801 19th St, West Des Moines, IA 50265). A rosary was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1627 Grand Ave, West Des Moines, IA 50265). A burial was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at the Resthaven Cemetery (801 19th St, West Des Moines, IA 50265).
Memorial contributions can be made to Midwest Education Development Fund, Inc. where a scholarship will be created in Ila's name.
