He was predeceased by: his stepfather Carl Boysel; and his brother Kenneth Johnston. He is survived by: his daughters, Bethany Mengel (Jim) of Des Moines, Kimberly Barrington (Dan) of Mesa and Gretchen Wilson (Jody) of Leon; his sister Judy Pringle; and his stepsister Karen Gridley (Jay). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
