It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viva L. Hansen (West Des Moines, Iowa), born in Independence, Iowa, who passed away on March 1, 2019, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ross Fairchild and Pearl Fairchild (Lowery); her spouse Melvin Hansen; her daughter Judy Sandvig; her grandson Todd Gray; and her siblings, Dwayne Fairchild, Eileen Moore and Marian Hare.

She is survived by: her daughters, Cindy Johnson (Larry) and Pat Brown (Ron); and her grandchildren, Kim Hairston, Heather Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Arianne Brown and Charity Kaldenberg (Ryan). She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren.
