He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest August Geertz and Mary Weiss Geertz; his siblings, Frieda Pasvogel and Robert; and his daughter Julia Leone.
He is survived by: his wife Aurilee; his daughters, Mary Ann Nelson (Gregg) of Kansas City, MO, Jennifer Brown of Norwalk, CT, Melinda Geertz (Jeff Wassmann) of Melbourne, Gina DePolo (Timothy) of Santa Cruz, CA and Emily Geertz (Frank Wagner) of West Liberty; and his grandchildren, Adrienne, Grant, Meredith Dunham (Damiano DeLeo), Alexander, Grace, Benjamin Brown, Isabel, Samuel, Sophie Wassmann, Peter DePolo, Jack, David and Margaret Mahoney.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Henderson Barker Funeral Home West Liberty (205 E Third St, West Liberty, IA 52776). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (116 E Maxson Ave, West Liberty, IA 52776).
