He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Comer and Lylia Comer (Schwaegler); and his brothers-in-law, Kene Quade and Carson Aurand. He is survived by: his wife Susan Avenarius; his children, Chad Comer of Madison, Wisc and Amy Felderman (Dennis) of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Connor, Carter and Hannah; his son Jason Comer (Sheila) of Chicago; and his siblings, Betty Quade of Epworth, Lois Aurand (Don Christensen) of Florida, Jean White (Bill) of Eldridge and Marilyn Shanahan (Jerry) of Dubuque.
