He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Modrell and Matilda Modrell (Butts); his former wife Zelda Modrell; his children, James Modrell, Sandra Moore and Jack Modrell Jr.; his sisters, Wilma Starling and Tina Jacks; and his great grandchildren, Michael and Christina Spear.
He is survived by: his wife Diana; and his daughters, Betty Nemeth and Mary Harpole (Charlie) of Calder. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren with one on the way; and nieces and nephews.
