He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bert Phillips and Emma Elmira Phillips; his former wife Colleen; his son Michael; and his siblings, Narvel, Lavoy, Leon, Gereld, Donny and Elva.

He is survived by: his friend Kay; his wife Judy; and his children, Becky Hendricks, Kelly Rankin (John), Dan Phillips and Sam Phillips (Joyce). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
