He was predeceased by: his parents, Vern Carter and Elizabeth Livingston Carter; his brother Ken V. Carter; and his daughter Virginia Carter. He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Louise Barnes; his children, Steven Carter (Pam), Linda Myrup (Alan), Mark Carter (Allison), Susan Christensen (Milt) and Gaylynn Spackman (Ross); and his sister Nadine Kekauoha. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, and 52 great grandchildren.
