He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George W. Brown and Thereasa E. Rutherford; his wife Dorothy C. Ellesworth; his children, Lloyd (Lynette Brown), Richard (Charlene Brown), Beverley (Dave Murphy) and Carla (Earl Johnson); and his daughter-in-law Alice Brown. He was also cherished by 20 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
