He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert J. Boawn and Maida V. Boawn; his wife Toni Yuill; his daughters, Carmen (Joel Newby) and Lisa (Kevin Harrison); his grandsons, Kyle Newby, Bodie, Kylee, Connor Newby and Austin Harrison; and his sister Linda Ivie (Paul). He was also cherished by friends, supporting his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
