She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Sommers and Nydia Sommers (Carpenter); her son Donnie Gerdes; her brother Gilbert; her sister-in-law Martha Sommers; her brother Eldon (Donald Gerdes); and her granddaughter Stacey Kelly.

She is survived by: her husband Don Gerdes; her children, Pam (Fred Kelly), Sandy (Fred Sarceda) and Cindy Gerdes; her children-in-law, Dixie Gerdes and Gary Doi; and her close friend Albert Villa. She is also survived by 6 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 14 great-grand children.
