He was predeceased by: his parents, Seikichi Sato and Hiro Saito-Sato; his wife Darlene Marie Ackerman; his grandsons, Brock Allen Cherry and Rory Dewaine Neddo; and his sons-in-law, Rick McAtee and Dan McCord.
He is survived by: his children, Vickie Lynne McCord (late Dan) of Idaho Falls, ID, Sandra Lee Kirn (Rick) of Rochester, MN, Patricia Kay Simmons (late Dave) of Roy, UT, Kerry Louise Wessells (late Rick) of Idaho Falls, ID, Linda Marie Swendsen (John) of Idaho Falls, ID, Michael James Sato (Marilyn Shaw) of Idaho Falls, ID and DeNise Adrienne Cherry (John Cullen) of Shelley, ID; and his brother Kenneth Sato of Idaho Falls, ID. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests to donate to the Idaho Falls Food Bank.
