He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ina Sams; his son James Arnold Sams Jr.; his parents, Harold Sams and Elizabeth Renshaw Sams Teitsort; his siblings, Dean, Ronald, Eugene Sams, Betty Winey, Carol Anglan and Wayne Sams of Spokane; his daughter Rhonda Sams Vig; and his grandchildren, Brinda Schendel (Jamie) of Spokane, Robert Draggoo (Gigi) of Post Falls, Nicole Vig of Post Falls, Miranda Columbus of Post Falls and Andrew Vig of Post Falls. He was also cherished by Great-grandchildren.
