He was predeceased by: his father Raymond Opland. He is survived by: his mother Elaine Opland (Nastansky); his siblings, Lori Nirk, Mike and Tom Opland; his son Alex Opland (Emily); and his grandchildren, Caden and Carter Opland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
