She was predeceased by: her parents, George Sperry and Hazel Sperry (Bellinger); her husband James A. Kernan; her stepfather Richard Chandler Boggs; her siblings, Helen McKenney, Jean Miller and Frank "Buzz" Sperry; her daughter Patty Hamilton; and her close friend Don Hampton.
She is survived by: her children, James (Marti Kernan), Richard (Linda Kernan), Mike Kernan (Doni) of Geneseo and Terry Kernan (Robin Days) of Albany, IL; her son-in-law Jerry Hamilton of Geneseo, IL; her sister Donna Martin of Galesburg; and her close friends, Barb Robinson, Mary Vipond and Beth Springer. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Sunbeam United Presbyterian Church.
