He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Butler and Vera Butler (Dollar); his wife Alice Faye Motley; his stepbrother Larry Webber; and his stepgrandson Chase Kustowski.

He is survived by : his sons, David (Kay Holley), Eric (Tina), Jason (Jennifer) and Jonathon (Alicia); his grandchildren, Noah, Erica of Oakland, Jacob, Zachary of Arcola, Quinn and Delaney of Normal; his stepsister Brenda Ross (Robert); and his half-brothers, Jack Wilson (Patty), Jim Wilson of Tellico, TN and Jerry Wilson (Kim). He is also survived by two step grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren.
