She was predeceased by: her parents, William T. Carls and Henrietta J. Krohe Carls; her spouse Merle Lovekamp; her grandsons, Andy and Zach Meyer; and her siblings, Mary Brannan, Alice Ore, Joanne Jacobsen, Ronald "Bud" Carls, Jim Carls and William "Bill" Carls.

She is survived by: her children, Susie Meyer (Mike) of Jacksonville, Vicki Meyer of San Antonio, FL, Jill Schnitker (Kevin) of Holland, IN, Scott Lovekamp (Karyn) of Wesley Chapel, FL and Bruce Lovekamp (Penny) of Arenzville; her grandchildren, Jenna Crabtree (Bryan), Cara Strubbe (Kirk), Adam Meyer (Christy), Aaron Meyer (Stacey), Joe Meyer (Angie), Josh Meyer (Stacy), Crystal Guarnieri (Matt), Tyson Schnitker (Joanna), Trenton Lovekamp (Debbie), Jordan Lovekamp (Mariela) and Brooke Lovekamp; and her siblings, Patricia Wydell (Jim) and Kenneth Carls. She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
