He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Taylor; and his grandparents, Harold, Margaret Mahoney, Marie and Orville Taylor.

He is survived by: his children, Nora Leigh Taylor and Gabriel Ian Taylor; his mother Jane Ann Taylor; his wife Frances Taylor; and his siblings, Samuel Taylor (Becky), Gwen Lattimer (John), Jenny Nowalk (Robert), Susie Clairmont (Toby) and Tim Taylor (Wrenne). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rainbows for All Children.
