She was loved and cherished by many people including : her husband Samuel B. Smith Jr.; her children, Elizabeth Cook (Chris), Stephen Smith (Jennifer Clarke) and Peter Smith; her grandchildren, Grace, Owen and Colin; her nephews, Douglas Dunn (Debra) and David Dunn (Christina); and her niece Debbie Dunn.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kolssak Funeral Home (189 S Milwaukee Ave, Wheeling, IL 60090). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 1st 2024 at 3:00 PM.
