He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Jose Carrera (Olga "Rocio") and Irene Avitia (Edgar); his parents, Feliberto Carrera and Martina Navar; his grandchildren, Montserrat I. Avitia, Camila L. Avitia and Valentina P. Avitia; and his siblings, Estanislao Carrera, Rafaela Carrera and Leonardo Carrera.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Russo's Hillside Chapels (4500 Roosevelt Rd, Hillside, IL 60162). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Gertrude Catholic Church (9613 Schiller Blvd, Franklin Park, IL 60101). A burial will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery (1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside, IL 60162).
