He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wheelan and Helen Komerous; his brother Norman Wheelan (Joan); and his parents-in-law, Tom Johnson, Robert Rohde, Esther, Tony Luebbers, David Rohde, Ethel, David Smith, Fred and Gerry Rohde.
He is survived by: his wife Mabel Rohde; his daughters, Julia Wheelan of Carlyle, Jane Reitz (David) of Breese, Beth Koehler (Mark) of Carlyle, Ellen Wheelan of Beckemeyer and Laura Contreras (Casey) of Hutto, Texas; his grandchildren, Jacob Wheelan (Kendra), Lindsey Berry (Jared), Ashley Hemann (Scott), Branden Koehler, Candace Wheeler (Randy) and Matt Contreras (Megan); his great grandchildren, Kayla, Kamren, Alexandria Wheelan, Stella, Sylvie Berry, Vera, Kayden Hemann, Waylon Koehler, Ian and Emmy Wheeler; his sister Evelyn Johnson; and his parents-in-law, Helen Rohde, Daniel and Debbie Rohde. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
