He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Niklich and Rose Niklich; his stepfather Augest Waltemate; his wife Ethel F. Niklich; and his siblings, Blaze Niklich, Kathreen Irene Waltemate and Mary Tompkins (Brayton).

He is survived by: his children, Betty Schaefer (Gary), Linda Hyde (Jay Cloud), Robert Niklich (Alyce) and Mary Wise (Dennis); his grandchildren, Todd Schaefer, Tim Schaefer, Denise Dupont (Joe), Derrick Yates (Ane), Travis Niklich, Tracy Eye (Jeremiah), Jordyn Lehr, Jennifer Wise, Jessica Wise, Angel Wise and Heather Wise; his great grandchildren, Haley Schaefer, Kaylee, Payton, Nina Dupont, Preston, Parker, Phillips, Phinley Eye, Kyly, Amari Oliver, Dakota Wise, Gracee Groth, Bishop, Devan Wallace and Leigha Wise; his great great grandchildren, Hailey and Layla Wise; and his sister Delores Waltemate (late Rudy).
