Roberta A. Bortell Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Roberta A. Bortell of Bloomington, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 12, 2025 at the age of 78. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Roberta A. Bortell to pay them a last tribute.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Roberta shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Roberta farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She is survived by: her husband Jim Bortell; her sons, Tim Lane-Bortell (Linda) and David Bortell (Andrea); and her grandchildren, Amber, Sean Lane-Bortell, Brenna (Joseph) and Elise Bortell.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Normal First United Methodist Church (211 N School St, Normal, IL 61761).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Normal First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Committee on Relief, Preachers Aide Society, and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
