He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick John and Mabel Rose Lawless (Tavares); and his siblings, Marion J. Lawless, Lyle Lawless, Elaine Marie Lawless and Lorraine Lawless Volkman.

He is survived by: his wife Marianne Lawless of Bourbonnais; his brother Ira; his sister-in-law Catherine Lawless of Kankakee; and his sibling's children, Marilyn McCall of Spring Grove and James I. Lawless of McCall, ID..

Memorials may be made to Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno.
