He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Sr. Welter and Lorraine Welter; and his siblings, Robert Walls, Jacqueline Stewart and Sherrill Mueller.

He is survived by: his children, Daniel D. Welter, III (Hope Ames) and Iris Welter. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, as well as two brothers.
