He was predeceased by: his brother Willard "Will" Empey; and his grandmother Marileen Empey. He is survived by: his wife Amy Smith; his children, Alexis, Zachary and Tyler; his stepchildren, Joey Knott (Makayla), Jeremy Knott and Sarah Knott; his granddaughter Amelia "Millie" Little; his brother Andrew Empey (Danielle); and his parents, Andrew Empey (Jan) and Ursula Beneke.
