He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hugh Joseph Muldoon and Margaret Maher; his former wife Mary Laufenberger; his daughter Ann; his friend William Broderick; his siblings, Ryan, Cory and Maureen; his children, Lyn and Ryan; his siblings, Jane Muldoon and Mercy; his wife Judy Ashby; his stepson David Wikel of Lawrence, KS; his stepgrandchild Ryan (Michelle); his sons, Aidan, Gabriel of Alexandria, VA and Cory (Laura Mullkoff); his grandchildren, Bayard and Eugene of Chicago, IL; his daughter Maureen (Scott Lothes) of Madison, WI.; his siblings, John Muldoon of Hawaii and Ann Galli; Albert Somit.
Only the Covid-19 pandemic curtailed their annual Christmas day open house, a potluck gathering of food, fellowship, carols, and "green elephant gifts" for family, friends, international students, and people who had nowhere else to go on the holiday.
That led him to the Student Christian Foundation, a hub for civil rights activism and anti-draft counseling. The foundation, which began in the 1940s as the ecumenical and innovative Christian Campus Ministry, became a home for Hugh.
