It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert William Rushing of Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on June 9, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his sisters, Janet Gibbs, Wanda Smith and Mary Lou Witherspoon; his wife Prudy Rushing (Ledbetter); his children, Ken Rushing, Kelly Lindsey (Rushing), Rhondalynn Rushing (Meadows) and Rob Lindsey; and his grandchildren, Marine Lance Corporal Josiah, Alison Rushing (Sherrick), Hannah Jarvis (Rushing) and Hayden Jarvis.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
