With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Timothy Shawn Ryan of Carlinville, Illinois, who passed away on February 18, 2023 at the age of 63. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, John Ryan (JB) and Betty Ryan (Nester); and his nephew Matthew Ryan. He is survived by : his close friend Leanne Gahr of Carlinville; his siblings, Mike Ryan (Beth) of Springfield, IL, Pat Ryan of Springfield, IL, Dan Ryan of Carlinville, IL and Peggy Egizii (Todd); his uncle Harold Nester (Virginia Altis) of Branson, MO; and his former life partner Sheri Carey of Springfield, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Carlinville Elks Lodge #1412 Roof Fund or the Animal Protective League, Springfield, IL.

Joseph Hardy wrote a sympathy message

“We will always remember Tim’s quick wit and kindness. He earned national recognition for his creation of the Bar Stool Open for United Cerebral Palsy. This event raised tens of thousands of dollars which assisted UCP in their mission. I accompanied Tim to the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach were he received his award. Rest in Peace.”
