He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles F. Elmer and Ruby Dixon Elmer; his sister Betty Jo Eoff; his spouse Bonnie J. Dodds of Lafayette; his children, Charles M. Elmer of Mansfield, Robert Elmer (Stephanie) of Champaign, Paula Arroyo of Temecula, Cindy Dodds of Urbana and Vickie Harshbarger (Carl) of St. Joseph; his grandchildren, Cory Allen, Cole Elmer, Ryan Elmer, Matthew, Sean Arroyo, Mikayla and Mariska Harshbarger; and his great grandchildren, Michelle, Brody, Emersyn, Amelia, Logan and Reagan.
