He was predeceased by: his parents, James DeWitt and Murray DeWitt (Miller); his wife Hazel M. Mowery; and his siblings, Carl, Wayne and Marie.
He is survived by: his children, Gareld "Jerry" DeWitt (Jackie) of Oregon, IL, Ken DeWitt (Sharon) of Granville, IL. and Diane Hodge (Greg) of Anchorage; his grandchildren, Gary DeWitt (Chris), Tim DeWitt (Sai) and Carolyn Wheat (Ian); his great grandchildren, Christopher, Cole, Shayne, Tucker and Cooper; and his great great grandchildren, Jackson and Everly.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund is established for the Serenity Hospice and Home.
