He was predeceased by: his parents, I. B. Nelms and Olive Nelms (Morgan); his brothers, Richard, Leland and Wayne; and his siblings-in-law, Dr. David Ellison, Mack Fox and Jo Nelms.
He is survived by: his wife Doreen Jackson; his daughters, Kelley Sultan (Marc) of Las Vegas, NV and Renee King (Robert) of Charleston, IL; his granddaughters, Rachel Lauren Finney of Groveland, CA and Emily Anne Finney of Los Angeles, CA.; his sisters, Shirley Hale of Bella Vista, AR, Sharon Fox of Mattoon, IL and Saundra Ellison of Omaha, NE; and his sister-in-law Sylvia Nelms of Alamosa, CO. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran School or Lincoln Land Hospice.
