He was predeceased by: his parents, Tilman Tyler and Emma Hill Tyler; and his daughter Brenda. He is survived by: his wife Rosie M. Tyler; his children, Victor Harris, Bobby Harris, Larry Tyler (Cynthia) and Audrey Walden (Dwight); his grandchildren, Rachae, David, Jermaine, Benjamin, De'Angelo, Sheena, Jeremy and Brittany; his son-in-law Darryl; and his sister Mildred Owens of Olive Branch. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
