He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanore. He is survived by: his children, Eric (Donna), Robert (Sandy), Gregory (Katie), Gerard (Sylvia), Virginia Hammarlund and Eleanore Dudek Woodcock; and his siblings, Richard (Donna) and Helen Bensen. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Memorials in Eric's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Unity Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.

“Dear Cousins, Brad and I were sorry that we were unable to attend your Dad's memorial mass. We were out of the country from 9/30 to 10/13. Otherwise we would have been there. I have so many fond memories of your dad. Our birthdays were only 3 days apart in April so he always sent me a card, and I did the same. He was also the best polka dancer in the family. Pretty impressive for a Swede. In love and sympathy, Anita and Brad We will be making a donation to St. Jude's.”
