She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Doering and Ruby Doering; her husbands, John Joseph Riley and Joseph James Alberti; her stepdaughters, Karen Collins (Michael) and Rita Domitro (Werner); and her friends, Phillip Gerk (Ruth), William Gerk (Roberta) and Ron Dust (Maxine).
She is survived by: her son Charles Alberti (Valerie); her grandchildren, Leo and Christina Alberti; her stepdaughter Patricia Hopman (James); her stepgrandson Andrew; and her friends, Maureen Bornstein, Michael Gerk, Gini Barker and Amy Duncan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wounded Warriors or Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control in Gwen's honor.
