She was predeceased by: her parents, Maria and Gerhard; and her sister Elfriede Peters. She is survived by: her children, Alexander (Paula Senini-Eugenides), Michael (Lisa Cannon), Denise and Catherine Reczek (David); her grandsons, Angelo and Kyle; her nephew Michael Peters (Michaela); her great-niece Marina; her niece Catherine Costello; and her friend Norma Eugenides.

Josefine loved animals, donations can be made to Anti-Cruelty Society Chicago.
