Mototsugu left this world on September 9, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He is survived by: his wife Betty K. Morita; his son Mark Morita (Lisa); his grandson Jackson; his daughter Julie Morita (Bill Trick); his grandchildren, Megan, Jake and Paul Morita (Marin); and his son David Morita.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church (4511 N Hermitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60640). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. At age 12, his life was profoundly shaped when he and his family were sent to concentration camps under Executive Order 9066, a result of discrimination against Japanese Americans during World War II.
