He was predeceased by: his father Michael E. Herald. He is survived by: his mother Kathleen Herald; his siblings, Michael Herald (Michele), Bridget Merck (Brock), Anne Steele (Mick) and Scott Herald (Holly); and his siblings' children, Tom, Kathryn, Caroline, Howie, Molly, Michael, Nora, Patrick, Maria, Maggie, Teddy, Mary Rose, Grace, Francesca and Philomena.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School.
