With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sonya Carter Murray of Chicago, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 18, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Sonya Carter may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alice Elizabeth Carter and Nathan Newman; her husband Harold; and her stepson Patrick. She is survived by: her children, Colleen Murray (Anthony Harris) and William Murray (Merriah); and her grandchildren, Gracin and Ashton.
