He was predeceased by: his close friend Ellen Bresler; and his sons, Howard Goldberg (Shirley) and Greg Helfer. He is survived by: his children, Erwin (Dawn), Earl Goldberg (Kathy), Robin Sanders, Karen Kray (Jeff), Lauren Siwinski, David Young (Nicole), Michael Helfer (Julie) and Missy Raphael; and his siblings, Sandra Needleman (late Saul) and Pops. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PAWS of Chicago or American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA).
