He was predeceased by: his parents, Julia Durkin and James Durkin. He is survived by: his wife Janis Roberts; his children, Erin Pieplow (Dan), Krista Mussa (Sam), Catherine Durkin Stewart (Ted), James Durkin (Madeleine), Matthew Durkin (Anne) and Alanna Durkin Richer (Alex); his grandchildren, David, Shannon, Alex, Liam, Lilly, Charlie, Jack, Patrick, Maisie, Libby, Maeve, Reese, Ryan, Tommy and Emmy; and his great grandchildren, Noah and Ezra.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Union League Club of Chicago (65 W Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL 60604). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Old Saint Patrick's Church (700 W Adams St, Chicago, IL 60661).
