With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter J. Malinowski of Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on December 9, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Julie Glut (Chip); and his siblings, Anna Kramer (Joseph), Sophie Szymasek (Walter), Helen Lesiak (Ted) and Joseph Malinowski (Maragret).
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his daughters, Joyce Anderson (Henry) and Kathy Sher (Keith); his grandchildren, Brian (Roselia), Kevin, Lauren, Justin Sher (Christine), Matt Glut (Danille), Sarah Glut, Rebekah Honey (James) and Elizabeth Gonzalez (Jorge); and his great grandchildren, Ezra, Riley, James, Neil, Aaron, Edan, William, Rachel, Ashlynn, Selah, Titus, Olivette, Honey, Jasmine and Carla.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Homes of Chicago (6250 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646). A prayer will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Church (7211 W Talcott Ave, Chicago, IL 60631).
