Dan Hef wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Pat & Kids, I just learned of Bill's passing today. Bill was a man who took he responsibilities very seriously. I recall him telling me with pride that all of his children had jobs and "back up" jobs to do when they were not at their primary jobs. This was while they were in their teen years and attending school full time. Pat I am so sorry for the family's loss. Bill worked very hard his entire life and it unfair that he left so soon. Go Cubbies! Dan Hefner”

“Our thoughts and prayers are w/ the siffermann family. The world was his family and always had a glow when referencing any or all of you. He wore the raisin 8 license plates w/ great pride. We worked w/ bill at cook juvenile court. The thousands of minors and families he assisted and influenced will never be duplicated. His dedication to his family and career was truly admirable. May he rest in peace. Bill & larry stapleton”

John Rhoads wrote a sympathy message

“My deepest sympathy to bill's family. I worked in jdai with bill both in cook county and san francisco county. If there was a hall of fame for those of us who worked in juvenile justice reform, bill's uniform would be hanging from the rafters. He had a great wit and sense of humor. I will miss him. May he rest in peace. John rhoads”
