He was predeceased by: his parents, Neve Harms and Marion Harms of Peoria, Illinois.; his son Marc Harms; and his brother Richard Harms (Vicky). He is survived by: his brothers, Robert Harms (Linda) and Thomas Harms (Debbie) of Chillicothe; his daughter Kelley Schaar (Andrew) of Chillicothe; his grandson Dakota Rosenberger of Chillicothe; his nephew Dale Harms (Jena) of Chillicothe; his partner's children, Shelly Burns of Metamora and Bethia Schupp (Michael) of Lowpoint; and his stepgrandchildren, Trinity, Riley, Lilli and Cameron.
