He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Oertley and Emma Oertley (Fritz); his siblings, Mabel Streitmatter (Ralph), Verna Streitmatter (Rollin) and Charles Oertley (Darlene); his grandson Todd Varness; and his son G. David Oertley.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Cheesman; his children, Charles Oertley (Karen) of Nashville, TN and Nancy Varness (Harvey) of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Erik Varness (Kate) of Peoria, Kristin Pretasky (Nick) of Appleton, WI, Ann Kantz (John) of Chillicothe and Jennifer LeDuc (Jay) of Nashville, TN; his granddaughter-in-law Dierdre Stringenz (Tim) of Bozeman, MT; and his great grandchildren, Emma, Max, Samantha Varness of Peoria, Quinn Varness of Bozeman, MT, Naomi Pretasky of Appleton, WI, Bobby, Charlie Kantz of Chillicothe, Evelyn, Grace Strigenz of Bozeman, MT and Remy LeDuc of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by four nieces.
