He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his sons, Brian Schmidt (Julie) of Janesville, IA and Bruce Schmidt (Nancy) of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Joseph, Jordan, Jessie Schmidt and Rose Wurster; and his sister Phyllis Bowcott of Tuscon, AZ..
