It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Wayne Meritt of Clay City, Illinois, born in Carmi, Illinois, who passed away on December 16, 2020, at the age of 58, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his father Harold Glen Meritt (Floetta); and his brother-in-law Russell Short. He is survived by : his close friend German Shepherd; his pets, Strider, Scooby and Baby Girl; his mother Floetta Meritt of Grayville; and his siblings, Glen Meritt (Shirley) of Grayville, John Meritt (Marcia) of Flatwoods, Rocky Meritt of Newport, Tennessee, Robin Cunningham (Randy) of Parkersburg and Leigh Short of Grayville.
