James Cockerel Jr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Cockerel Jr. of Clay City, Illinois, who passed away on June 21, 2025 at the age of 92. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Cockerel Jr. to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sr. Cockerel and Katherine L. Cockerel (Wright); his son James Bradley Cockerel; and his siblings, Marilyn Patridge and Jack Cockerel.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Harbin of Clay City; his children, Kahla Anderson (Kim) of Bristol, RI, Connie Thomas (Richard) of Crossville, IL and Jeffrey Cockerel of Grand Junction, CO; and his grandchildren, Courtney, Goodwin, Branda, Linda, Jencie, John, Kaylee, Jackie, Nicole, Amanda, Nathelee, Joanna and Christopher. He is also survived by two great granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home - Clay City (925 S Main St, Clay City, IL 62824).
