With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Betty Onsen of Coal City, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Anton and Evelyn Mary Viano (Nelson); her parents-in-law, Anna Onsen Benge (Richard Benge) and Harold Onsen; her granddaughter Jenna Onsen; and her siblings-in-law, James Onsen, Leonard "Swede" Onsen, Jerry Lee Onsen, Faye Legg (Bruce), Betty Lou Vandygriff (Butch), Wayne Onsen (Dorothy), Richard Onsen and David Onsen (Kathleen).
She is survived by: her sons, Gary Onsen (Sara) of Coal City, Thomas Onsen (Tammy) of Coal City and Timothy Onsen of Coal City; her granddaughters, Kimberly Clubb (Cody), Madison Kolthoff (Devan), Cassandra Russell (Will Vanderwall) and Meredith Wren (Johnny); her great grandchildren, Cole, Trent, Rylin, Mason, Nolan, Hadley, Stella, Levi and Weston; and her siblings-in-law, Pat Onsen, Carol Morin, Karen Summers (Tommy) and William "Billy" Onsen (Dee Perona). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Betty's memory to the Assumption Building Fund, The Martha's of Assumption Parish, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
